Katrina “Kat” Donovan was orphaned at the age of 15 after her mother committed a murder-suicide on her cheating father. At around this time, Buffy Summers awoke all the Slayers in the world…including Kat. She wandered on her own for awhile before being found by Anita, who became her foster mother and Watcher. Kat developed a tight bond with Sandra,Lorelei, and Carrie, and through her sole year as Slayer saw and defeated great evils.

Unfortunately, this cost Kat her life, when she threw herself into the Pittsburgh Hellmouth to fulfill a prophecy that only the heart of a hero and the blood of a Slayer could close it.

Kat (in her perception) spent the next hundred years fighting for her life in Hell, before she suddenly sensed Anita had shuffled off the mortal coil, and was then (violently) dragged out of Hell by one Alan Collins III, that they could work together to find out what happened to the woman who meant so much to both of them.
